Tackling Imposter Syndrome: a group discussion

A free discussion to explore that nagging fear that keeps us from feeling confident or competent. Coined in the 1970’s, “imposter syndrome” was the name given to the notion often plaguing high achievers that they were really just frauds who had gotten by on luck. How does this operate in our careers, relationships and personal goals? And how can we challenge this thinking in order to own our own strengths?

On being mindful…

“Mindfulness is a way of befriending ourselves and our experience. ”

John Kabat Zinn

“The human body is the holder of all secrets, the teller of truths. And when the truths are revealed- good or not so good- they are gifts. Yoga is a path of awareness. When we gain awareness, we have choice. Seeing a pattern that creates pain, do I want to keep it or let it go? Can I decide on a new course of action by inviting in a new way of thinking? The value of yoga is not just in stretching the muscles but in stretching the mind.”

Swami Lalitananda

“Calming the mind is yoga. Not just standing on the head. ”

Swami Satchidanada
